    Firstly they must have reasonable grounds to suspect your phone is stolen….

    So if a policeman stops you and says you are obliged to hand the phone over then you can ask this simple question….

    Do you have reasonable grounds to suspect this phone is stolen and if so what grounds are they please,,, I repeat there is now law that states you must hand your phone over unless that have reasonable grounds. you can of course refuse to hand the phone over untill these grounds have been established, however they can arrest you and take you to the police station if you so refuse, but this leads them wide open to being sued…
